Watergate Street Gallery Filled With Chesters Hidden Treasures

Chester’s independent Watergate Street Gallery was opened in 1992 with artwork sourced locally, nationally and around the World.

The gallery has over 34 different categories of artwork such as Signed Limited Editions, Photography, Pop Art and Surrealism. The gallery houses 477 originals, prints and canvases as well as an array of ceramics and bronzes.

There are over a hundred featured artists and well over a 1000 pieces of work from many collectable artists at the gallery such as Peter Blake, Jack Vettrianno, Sandra Blow and Beryl Cook.

The majority of the artwork displayed has either not been shown in Britain or has only been displayed in a few other museums, with up to fifty new works added every week.

The gallery also boasts a large selection of Victorian watercolours, etchings and screen prints.

The Signed Limited Edition artworks are available to purchase at the gallery and on their website. There are over 220 pictures, featuring such artists as Pine’s, On The Balcony, Bernard Vogel’s Venizia and Fading Harbour Sun Sydney by Madjid.

There are over 387 pictures featured in the Original Work collections, which includes abstract artist Lara James and houses 24 pieces of her artwork at the gallery. Another featured abstract artist is Jeremy Cangialosi with his work selling for a starting figure of £220.

The Original Work Collection also showcases landscape artists such as David Renshaw’s Return To Paradise.

Photographic Collection features 1,380 pictures by artists such as Adam Jahiel, Alicia Soave and Boyce Watt.

Adam Jahiel’s work includes black and white photographs, On the Range I - Remuda Number 5 and On the Range II – Building A Loop.

The striking photographs, Paradise Garden and Garden Staircase are by the photographer Alicia Soave are included in the gallery. Boyce Watt’s collection includes series, Sea Gallery I, II, III and IV.

The Pop Art collection includes works by Andy Warhol and Adrie Scherpenberg. Many of Andy Warhol iconic Prints are available; alongside the striking pictures of artist Adrie Scherpenberg titled Summer, Water, Free and Air.

In the Surrealism section there are over a 160 pictures including the renowned artist Salvador Dali. Swans reflecting, Elephant and Les Montres Molles are some of his artwork featured in this section
